Music

In music class students prepare for our weekly liturgy, study religious and secular song literature, become familiar with music of great composers, study and learn to play classroom percussion and folk instruments, move creatively to music, learn traditional folk dances of the world, study the many musical concept including pitch, melody, rhythm, timbre, form, dynamics, etc. Standards and benchmarks from The Sunshine State Standards for Music are used in planning and implementing active, participatory lessons.

St. Paul Catholic School is pleased to offer an eclectic and well-rounded music program for students in EC-3 through Eighth Grade. There are many opportunities for students to be musically involved:

Vocal Choir
Volunteers  are chosen weekly to lead the congregation in song.  The Cantors will sing at all school Masses on Wednesday at 8:15.

Talent Show

Christmas Concert
In December, all students in EC-3 through Grade 4 participate in our Annual Christmas Concerts. The EC3 – Kindergarten Classes will perform together, as will the 1st – 4th Grade Classes. The Christmas Concerts are held in the gym.

Middle School Christmas Pageant & Nativity
In December, all students in Grades 5-8 participate in our Annual Christmas Pageant.  Each class sings selected songs and other small ensembles or soloists may also perform.  The 8th Grade then puts on our Annual Nativity Play complete with song.  The Christmas Pageant and Nativity Play are held in the church.
