Physical Education

St. Paul Catholic School is a firm believer in educating and strengthening the mind and the body. Participation in sports encourages health, fitness, sportsmanship, appreciation of rules and care for equipment. Every child enrolled in kindergarten through 8th grade at St. Paul Catholic School has physical education as a part of the curriculum. And grading is based on three primary criteria: dressing in P.E. uniform; the amount of effort put forth in class; and overall participation-not how athletic the student is or how well he/she may play sports.

The younger students, kindergarteners and first graders, enjoy learning about gait, hand-eye coordination, dodging and fleeing, and balance while taking part in fun activities. Whether they are playing Finding Nemo or having a Hamburger Relay, the kids enjoy the game and develop skills while having a giggling good time!

The older students, second through eighth graders, learn about and practice many of the same sports the school competes in. All students, no matter age or grade, are taught about sportsmanship-first and foremost.
At St. Paul, every student, from the smallest to the tallest is encourages to participate in sports and athletics through school-sponsored team sports and physical education classes.

St. Paul participates in the LPCC (Lower Pinellas Catholic Conference) with six other schools. The team sports offered are soccer, flag football, volleyball, track & field, and basketball.
