Religion

Our mission at St. Paul Catholic School is not only to foster the academic success of our students but also to nurture
lifelong Catholic values that build strong character and cultivate a relationship with God.
While teachers integrate religion in all grades and subjects, all of our students also have designated time for
religion class. The younger grades have religion class with their homeroom teachers, which gives their teachers a unique opportunity to more fully integrate the religion curriculum into other subjects. The middle school students go to our Religion Teacher for their religion class. In middle school, the students are challenged to live by St. Anselm’s motto, “Faith seeking understanding.” We strive both to teach our students about the Catholic faith and also to give our students faith-based experiences that will build the foundation for
lifelong faith formation.
As a school community, we
pray together daily at the opening and closing of each school day. Teachers also lead the students in prayer before classes begin and before lunch. Knowing that the Eucharist is the
source and summit of our lives as Catholics, we come together each Wednesday with family and friends to celebrate
Mass Students in grades 3 thru 8 take turns preparing the readings and prayers for our school liturgies.
Because Jesus instructed us to, “love one another as I have loved you,” all of our students are given the opportunity to
serve others. Families are encouraged to volunteer together in our parish’s service ministries; students come together to fundraise and collect items for local, national, and international organizations; and our middle school students have the opportunity to learn more about Catholic Social Teaching and create a service project in the Matthew 25 Project choice class.
